This project was a railway bridge replacement over a busy road in and out of Hull. Our contract was to build two abutment walls in front of the existing ones keeping disruption to the traffic at bare minimum. Once the two walls were built the concrete had to cure for 28 days. On boxing day over the Christmas period the old bridge was removed and the new one put in its place. As it was so tight for time Mcrail came up with the installation of the Peri formwork system to pour the walls in one pour which saved valuable man hours and a very tight program. We could not have achieved this by doing it with a traditional formwork system in the time given. The finish on the concrete was a very high specification where an insitex liner was fixed to the face of the formwork to form the pattern required. We finished on program and overcame numerous obsticals to achieve this.
